Formats
The files available for download are in a few formats, including .doc, .pdf. These files should open on most machines and have been tested on: Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and various KDE, GNOME, and GTK linux environments. Downloads in less proprietary formats are coming soon, like .odt, .rtf.
Also for you Apple software users we will soon be providing .pages files!
Soon some documents will also be in the 2007 DOCX format. Stay tuned!!
The following non-opensource programs may be needed to open some files:
If you are unable to open any files, they are all supported by the open source (that means free) open office suite. This set of programs includes equivalents to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc. This is a good download for anyone who needs to open one of the above files and is to cheap to steal buy MS Office.
